Is there a revert function in modx 1.04?

I’m surprised that nothing came up when I searched the forums for revert- sorry if I missed this topic somewhere else. Please point me in the right direction if it is already answered elsewhere.

I just upgraded to modx evo 1.04 from 9.6.3. I really like quick manager- it’s much slicker and smoother than my old quick edit module and it gives a much better first impression to clients. However, I was really disappointed to find that there seems to be no revert function. To me, that’s a pretty crucial function to have before turning the site over to client editing.

What’s the best way to deal with this? Do I need to disable the nice, slick quick manager and go back to the clunkier quick edit? Is there any other way? Is quickEdit still available? When I searched modx extras to see if maybe it had been updated, all I got were links to quick manager....

QuickManager+ doesn’t have revert option but in my mind the cancel button does the same. If you dont’t like to save the changes you have made just press cancel. If I remember correctly the old QuickEdit revert button doesn’t actually revert anything after you have saved the changes (it’s just a standard form reset button) or am I remembering this wrong?

Hey Lammikko - the revert button in QuickEdit actually does revert- as long as you don’t close the edit window you can edit, save your changes, look at your changes in the full site window, then, if you’ve messed up you can go back to the edit window and hit revert and it will undo the changes. When you save your changes in quick manager the layer closes, and if the full site window looks funky you can’t undo any of your changes and get back to the original page you were working with.

Ah, thanks for the clarification. It’s been a while I have used the old QuickEdit. Unfortunately revert option is not a viable option for QuickManager+ since it’s using the same frame (and same features) as the real MODx manager.

If MODx would have a real preview before actually saving the changes I think it would work also with QuickManager+.

A real preview would be a great addition! I wonder if they’re considering adding that function...
