Problem copying site content

I’m trying to duplicate a site that I can use as a starting point for creating a new site. I’m relatively new to ModX, MySQL and PHP, etc which likely explains the problems I’m having.

I copied the files plus asset and manager folders from the current site to a new empty sub-folder on my server (/originalsite -> /test/newsite). I can access both ModX Managers just fine but when trying to change to the the File Manager Path and File Base Path or anything else on the new site (including content), the changes also show up on the original site, and vice versa.

I suspect I’m missing a setting or didn’t set up the new site correctly. Any direction on where to start looking would be really appreciated! (I’m on Evo 1.0.4.)

Sounds like you’re using the original database for both sites.
You need to duplicate the database with a new name and then adjust your duplicated site manager/includes/config.inc.php file to use the duplicated database.
