"Recent News" help

Hi there, I need some help.

I have a request to develop a site for a client who regularly writes for various outside blogs, as well as her own blog. I am getting familiar with Revo, and would like to know whether it’s possible to set up a "News" or "Recent Posts" section that could do basically what this woman’s site does: http://cherylsternmanrule.com/

I need my client to be able to quickly and easily insert a relevant image, some text, and a link to an article which she has recently written. Is there a chunk or snippet that would help me do that? I need to be able to tell the chunk or snippet "show the latest five entries the author has posted and then hide/archive the rest," as well as "make sure each entry is only so many pixels high and wide,"

Is this possible with modx? Or would I have to set up something like a wordpress blog for these functions?

How I would do this:
- Let the client make new resources in a certain container, eg "Latest news".
- Using TV’s (perhaps some modification to the form in the backend using Form Customization) and resource fields your client can enter the details of what she written.
- Utilizing getResources you can get a list of all resources under the "Latest news" container, formatted as you please using the &tpl parameter. Using &limit you get the 5 last entries. Using css / phpthumb for images to keep it within the size needed.
- On a seperate archive page use getResources again with a different &tpl parameter to show all entries
