It appears I have MODx installed correctly (as I can access the manager, preview pages, and data is being written to tables in MySQL), however, tags are not being parsed. Ex: [*pagetitle*], [(site_name)], [*content*] (these are in a template that a page is assigned to). Any hints as to what I may be doing wrong?
Also, why would a template not allow me to enter a category name?

Which version of MODx are you using? The tags are different for Evo and Revo.
