[SOLVED] Multi-site management

Hi Guys,

I have a client who has about 5-6 websites (and counting). By now it’d start to be interesting for me to consider a single CMS-installation for all of their content... Is this something you would consider Revo/Evo for, and if so, which one? Is this what "contexts" in Revo is for?

Hey Steven,

You would be best off using Revo for this, and you’re right about using ’contexts’. You’ll create one context per website and have one site tree per website. In the screenshot attached, we have 3 contexts representing 3 different websites for one client - an english site, a chinese site, and an ecommerce store. You can share templates and other elements across sites if it makes sense to, for example the chinese and english site in our case have the exact same look and feel, only everything is in a different language.

I’m totally new to MODx and decided to use it instead of CMSMS (no PHP skills, but willing to learn according to my needs).

Hey Gour - here’s a couple of links to get you started, whilst MODx allows you to build in whatever style you choose, I prefer to take the core teams’ direction and follow what is considered best practice. One context per language works very well.
