First, I apologize for my complete and total newbness. I took a summer internship to help a nonprofit get their website up and probably got in over my head. We’re running out of time so I tried to set up a webserver at home to work with, as I don’t have external FTP access into the server at work. The problem I’m having is after setting everything up the same way through the backend of modx, the site at home is still just unformatted text, links, and pictures in plain HTML.
In the head section I added:
<base href="[(site_url)]" />
<link href="[(base_url)]assets/templates/ywca/styles/styles.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
And the styles are not being pulled through. I haven’t modified the apache install so I believe the root is still var/www, which then leads to assets/templates and so on. There is something here I’m not understanding and I would appreciate any possible help. Thanks!
I finally found the answer. It was a permissions issue in the folders that the images and the stylesheets were in.
Sorry about taking up the space, it really did consume my head for 3 days or so before I posted.
I feel pretty silly now.
