Resources section missing in manager?

    Hello

    First all I’m very new to modx. In the modx manager the resources button mentioned in the documentation for modex 1.04 (shown below) is not there in my installation



    Some info
    Server os: Ubuntu 8.04.3
    PHP: Version 5.2.4-
    Apache: Version 2.2.8
    Mysql: Version 5.0.51

    The server is running in a virtual machine on my PC and will only be used for developing.

      MODx is known to not work properly with MySQL 5.0.51....

      Try another version (and perhaps an upgrade install).

        Thanks for your answer. I will try with a newer version of mysql then. Since modx is known not to work well with mysql 5.0.51 perhaps there should be a check for this during installation... just a thought.

          There actually is! Or, that might just be Revolution.... can’t remember it checking that in Evo now to think of it.

          Anyway. The check doesn’t block you from using it, it only tells you of the issue.

          I’m not even sure anymore if it even affects Evolution... but one doesn’t want to use a buggy MySQL installation anyway, right? tongue

            It doesn’t effect Evo itself (at least not as far as I know), but some of the main extras (like Ditto and Wayfinder) are effected.

              Well I upgrade my virtual lamp appliance, but the problem still presists, the resources section is missing from the main screen in manager (see my first post). Before I installed modx i created a new mysql database user called "modx" with the following rights:

              SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, CREATE, DROP, FILE, INDEX, ALTER, CREATE TEMPORARY TABLES, CREATE VIEW, SHOW VIEW, CREATE ROUTINE, ALTER ROUTINE, EXECUTE


              Does modx require any additional rights for it’s database user?

              Some info
              OS: Ubuntu 10.04
              PHP Version: 5.2.13
              Mysql version: 5.1.30
              Apache version: 2.2.14

                What documentation are you actually referring to?

                I think that document might be outdated, as this is what my 1.0.4 start screen looks like (see attachment).

                Resources became Elements, and Documents became Resources in 1.0.0 I think.
