[SOLVED] Listing pages with Template Variables --> Use Ditto :)

Hi there,

I’ve just run my first install of modxcms, I previously used CMS Made Simple. One of the things I use alot, and which I can’t find in the documentation (probably more my fault than lack of documentation).

I’m building a website for an Event-management agency. They have a list of partners. In the partner-overview I want to list the children, but not just their title, i want each partner in the overview to have his/her logo, a short text and a link to their website. I think i’m supposed to use the menu-snippet, but can anyone point me in the right direction?

In CMSMS this would look something like:

{foreach from=$nodelist item=$node}
{cgsimple->getPageContent(’shorttext’,’shorttext’)
{cgsimple->getPageContent(’image’,’image’)
{if $image}<img src="{$image}" alt="{title}" />{/if}{$shorttext}
{/foreach}

You need Ditto in combination with Template Variables. I am to busy at this moment to give a good example, but you can get a good start on http://ditto.modxcms.com

Nice work there... Look into the PHx Extension phpThumb ... it will let you resize those images on-the-fly.. I often will assign pages an image and then use it in 3 or 4 ways in a site with thumbs, slideshows, carousels, etc.

I’m a frontender, would this require PHP knowledge? If so, I’ll look into it .
