Getting Wayfinder to display images

My problem is "How do I get Wayfinder to display images?"

Currently, the site I am working on is at http://www.elstonmfg.com/index.php

Although live, it hasn’t replaced the main site, yet, because of a few issues. The main one is the buttons for the main menu.

The biggest issue I am trying to resolve right now is that when I use Wayfinder to create the main menu, I can’t seem to load my required background images.

The code that I am using won’t load in MODx unless you are logged into the account (which is another issue I don’t understand... I made a copy of a page, modified it, and kept it hidden in the menu).

So I made a copy of the code that page generates and put it here:

The Main Menu’s Level One Parent UL is supposed to have a background with images shaped as buttons. Then when you hover over the LI, or Activate it, you should see a CSS Sprite loaded from the same image (as a new background for the hovered/Active LI).

That doesn’t happen. I have tried loading the images as "images/menu/image-name.png" and "/images/menu/image-name.png" and neither works.

I can load the main background image as a background of the enveloping div, but I can’t get wayfinder to load in background images.

Where am I going wrong?

Hello,

Did you set the base tag in your template? Also are you linking to your images from the CSS file? So if CSS is in CSS folder and images in an IMAGE folder above you would use ../images/file.jpg in the css file. The ../ will take you up one level.

Yes, the base tag is:

<base href="http://www.elstonmfg.com/"></base>

...which of course is the root of the site.

The CSS is here (style-*.css), as well.

The image folder from which I load the images is also at this level, so images/menu/filename.png should work, and so should /images/menu/filename.png

So, I’m really confused why I can’t get these images to show up as I am using the same path and CSS Sprites technique as I am using in what the main site is currently using (http://www.elstonmfg.com/index.php).
