saving a page take me 20 sec

Dear Modxers,

I have a problem with my modx cms, actually I’m running version 0.9.6.3 and I won’t update it until next version comes. At this time modx manage nearly 2000 pages on my website.

And when I create a new page and would like to save it, it takes me approximately 20 sec until the job is done.

Does anyone had the same problem or knows the reason?

How big is your Manager Log and your System Events Log tables? I have seen those cause slowdowns. Also your cache files could be getting large. On what type of server are you running?

I already empty logs and system event, it doesn’t change anything.

Sometimes I get an error message of this type after doing an action into modx:

error replacing into active users! SQL: REPLACE INTO `lords****`.`modx_active_users` (internalKey, username, lasthit, action, id, ip) VALUES (1, ’admin’, ’*********’, ’2’, NULL, ’85.2.190.228’) MySQL server has gone away.

I seems that modx as problem with our database, and modx becomes increasingly slow, month after month.

Our database weight is 9’487 Ko.

But I don’t know the config of our hosting company...

I’m thinking about commercial support, but I do not know who to ask?

If you’re on a shared server, I really do suspect you’re on a bit of an oversold server. The error message indicates your MySQL server is starving for resources be it processor (or more likely RAM).

If dedicated, when was the last time there was maintenance and optimization done on your database? Have you optimized MySQL for your particular needs? What are the versions of your full LAMP or WAMP/WIMP stack?

I also send an email to my hosting company, and they said nothing change on the server and it’s not overloaded, and for server’s info: http://imu87.infomaniak.ch/phpinfo.php

But anyway I’m will update with the next version of modx.
