    Hello,
I’m having a problem with evo 1.0.1. In 0.9.6, if you created a content with special charachters, for example "opinión", the alias automatically generated was: "opinion", resulting in "opinion.html" link for example.
In 1.0.1, the alias generated is "opinión", resulting in a link "opinión.html" wich I cannot access.
Ussing Ditto, the link that appears has the letter "ó" unreoggnized, with a "?" simbol resulting on the website.
Where is the problem? MODx? Transalias plugin? Ditto?
I think, if i’m not doing something wrong, its a critical bug wich can result in a lot of broken links.
    Thanks

The new 1.0.1 release thems to think anyone speeks UTF8 smiley

The solution for this is to deal a little with the transalias plugin.
You can find the transliteration table shipped with 1.0.1 in the directory
      [tt]assets/plugins/transalias/transliterations/[/tt] of your MODx install.

Just edit the original the way you like.

My site is UTF-8 ( unlees i’m doing something wrong ).
You can check the problem here:
        http://www.simulacionbelica.com/articulos-de-opinion.html

        See "simulación" link.

In the other link, "Artículo de prueba", I edited the alias manually.

A link called "simulación.html" will always fail.

If you try to access manually to the suposed correct link, you’ll get an error page ( the home page is the error page by the moment, the site is still in development ) : http://www.simulacionbelica.com/articulos-de-opinion/simulación.html
You cannot access neither to this: http://www.simulacionbelica.com/articulos-de-opinion/simulaci%C3%B3n.html
        Or this: http://www.simulacionbelica.com/articulos-de-opinion/simulacion.html

I must edit the alias to "simulacion" to access to
        http://www.simulacionbelica.com/articulos-de-opinion/simulacion.html

That seems to be the only way

EDITED: An error page has been created tongue

          Yes I know.
You’ve to tell MODx by editing the transliteration table how to replace the accented characters for a working alias.

          i.e. [tt]’ó’=>’o’[/tt]

Have a look at the transliteration tables and I’m sure you’ll understand it.

            Thanks.
I finally set it back to "common" option.
I was reading the utf-8 transliteration tables but I still have my doubts about links with accents. TransAlias did it works created correctly as it was developed. It took the word "simulación" and created the same alias "simulación" according to the UTF-8 transliteration table. But if you try to follow the generated link, it will appear as a broken link. The link generated ( with ditto and with MODx using [~ID~] ) will have "?" in the place of the "ó" character, and you could no access the URL by any way.

Ah, sorry - I forgot about the "common" option in the plugin config.

As I’m on a german install here, I’ve had to edit the files to have them transliterate the german "Umlauts" correctly:
In the common they do it like [tt]ö -> o[/tt] but I like to have it [tt]ö -> oe[/tt] which is the correct german transliteration if non latin characters are not available.

Anyway: Glad you’ve got it working for your needs!
