FCKeditor help!

Any body know of a more efficient way to add and manage photos than using the FCKeditor in modx. Every time I want to do anything there’s a lag time for the editor to load. Every time I want to insert a photo in a webpage or upload to the server it’s a whole cumbersome, annoying, time-consuming process.

Is this the way you all manage your photos? There has to be another way.

I wish there was, too. If there is, I haven’t found it yet. I’m certain that someone out there has had to custom-write this functionality for a client, bur hasn’t open-sourced the code.
Hopefully Revo will bring an overhaul of this area.

Is FCKeditor the only way to insert photos when using modx, or can you store photos somewhere else and use third party software that inserts the photos more easily?

MaxiGallery might help in this regard, although I’ve never used it.

I don’t understand how anyone can tolerate modx considering how hard it is to insert photos, it just drives me completely insane. I guess most of the people who use it don’t deal with photos much and are just programmers.

there are tons of site using MODx that are totally photo-centric. Artist sites, graphics designers sites, all kinds of site heavy on the photos.

There are lots of image management add-ons available; try checking out what the Gallery section of Extras has.
