Question: dynamic options in a TV?

I am building a site with different categories represented as resources.

I have a list of resources in a different root level which I want to seperate into the different categories, without physically moving them to become child resources of the category resources.

I would like the list of resources to be put into each category via a TV using checkboxes.

My question is: is it possible to pull out the checkbox options dynamically into the TV, so that if the client adds a new category, it appears as a new checkbox option within the TV?
