Problem with install

Hi, this must be a very simple problem for a very simple person but here goes.

first time install, I have created the database using cpanel ukb_modx

I also created a user for that database with full access rights.

now the 2nd install page asked for this information, I enter

Database host: localhost
Database login: name: DB_modx
Database password:**password**


now I have to test thedatebase right? the link to thisis
http://mysite.com/install/index.php?action=connection#

nothing happens (using firefox)

using IE there is a script error that says.

Error:object doesent support this propert
code:0
URL: http://mysite.com/install/index.php?action=connection


now I cannot go NEXT until the connection is tested so I’m stuck.

Sometimes the host will add a prefix to the name of the DB you create and/or to the username. Check that first.

Also, check your memory_limit setting in phpinfo(), being short of memory can cause odd problems during the install.

Otherwise, it could just be a corrupted or missing file during the download or upload. It happens more often that you would think because MODx has so many files.

You were correc it was 2 files which had not uploaded correctly.
