Deleting Documents from the Tree

I was creating a container and instead of adding new documents to the container I inadvertantly created new documents. I then deleted them but when I try to add them to the container it tells me that I cannot use the same name. How do I remove these documents entirely from the system so I can use the same names? I’ve tried to search this forum but cannot find anything related to deleting documents.

on top of the document tree, there’s a trash can symbol...click on that to purge the ressources completely
