initial problems with empty menu

I’ve just installed my first copy of modx, and so far have done nothing more than the installation and create some new pages. The pages exist, because I can go to their urls directly, but nothing shows up under the "pages" heading in the right hand column on the published site.

I’ve checked that they are published (and they are) and that they are set to appear in the menu (again, yes).

The template in use is the one and only one available, the one it came with. It’s using the wayfarer thingymabob, which I’ve not edited in anyway.

I’ve looked at the wiki, I’ve looked at the designers documentation and the getting started guide. No light has been shed so far.

So, have I missed a major bit of configuration, or have I failed to install properly? Or something else?

I’m not even sure which version of MODx you’ve installed: Evo or Revo?

I am also baffled by this one having only just installed ModX for the first time - same problems as above.

I installed Evo (the original ModX? not the new beta one) and have been following Bob’s Guide. I can see the Wayfinder in the template but no menu is showing on the front end and as i’m no PHPer i am a bit stumped.

I’m sure it’s something simple but as Bob’s Guide seemed to say it should just automatically appear, i don’t really know what i’m looking for now that it doesn’t just appear! lol

I also have checked everything is set to ’published’ and ’appear in menu’
