Allowing clients to embed an image or Flash or link to a PDF using one TV

HI There,

I always seem to have trouble finding the Modx documentation/Wiki for some reason (there are a few of them right?) so sorry if this is covered but I can’t find info on this. We’re creating a gallery that will hold images, play Flash files and let clients embed content from YouTube/Vimeo etc.

Is there a TV type that will allow you to select files, images or embed code without resorting to the rich text editor?

If not, is it possible to force the rich text editor to:
- Stop it from wrapping every item in a <p> tag?
- Force it to use custom Flash embed code (we’re using FlowPlayer)?

Any help our pointers in the right direction would be much appreciated.

Here is how I would do it

1. TVs

Flash files/Pdf:
create a tv and choose Input Option Values: File


Images:
create a tv and choose Input Option Values: Image

Embeded:
create a tv and choose Input Option Values: Text Area (Mini)


2. Create a snippet or use phx that will detect which of the above has content in it.

3. Enter descriptions for the TVs so your client knows that only one of the 3 has to be filled in.

Note: You might be able to combine Images and Flash input box, by using the File Type.
