Multiple image upload (combine TVs)

Hi everyone.
I’m working with MODx for the first time (actually it’s the first cms I’m configuring my self), and so far I am surprised how easy it is. Even a beginner like me can make it look good, and work good (relative speaking).

I’m using it to output xml files for a flash portfolio of mine, and in the "showcase" part of the site I’m going to use a lot of images. I’m wondering if there is a way to use TVs together, combining them to work as one.

My idea:
The Image TV is great when wanting to add one image. But I might some times need to use 3 images, or maybe 10, or more.
Is it possible to make a TV where I first input how many images I’ll be using, lets say I I’m gonna use 6 images, and then 6 Image TVs is going to show up? If I chose 12, then 12 Image TVs will show and so on.


There’s a lot of info out there on MODx and it’s plugins and so on. But a rookie like me could need some step by step tutorials, from "Click on add new TV.." ending at "and click save. You have now created ..."

I’m using modx 1.0.1, is it still safe to use the 0.5.2v of MaxiGallery, or should I use the 0.6v?
(And to be safe. All I want of output from this is baisicly <obj img="url" thumb="url" />, the gallery it self is already designed and partially programmed).

you can use v.0.6 without a problem

check the wiki page for available placeholders to create your customized output

...and if you run into problems, post in the MaxiGallery part of the forum - help is almost guaranteed

The easiest way is to use MaxiGallery for the images and customize the output templates to get the layout you want. However another idea is to use a fixed number of image Tvs and only use as many as you need per page. For example you can setup 8 image tvs (image01, image02, image03...image08) and you can setup the display options for the TV to output the <li> for each image or you could use a snippet to output the list of images formated according to your specs.

But there is no Chance to pass an Array of 1 and more Images to one TV?
This could be a waist of TVs in case of up to 15 Images.

Use FTP, then synchronize it in the page. Boom! It’s all there already.
