Hey can anyone help,
I just installed modx 1.0.1, everything installed fine, i selected for the sample site and and the end selected to delete the install files. Once i clicked the ’next’ button i got the 404 page.
I can’t understand how to get access to the manager page to login!!!
I’m using my laptop with WAMP previously installed, unzipped the modx files to c:/wamp/www/modx-1.0.1
All my websites are in subfolder (eg/ c:/wamp/www/testsite). Tries putting /manager after all of them but cant get the login screen up!!!
Please can you help. I must be doing something stupid to be having this problem!

Can you access an ordinary .php file in the same folder? Try
Name the file info.php and put it in your MODx install directory, then in your browser window put
http://localhost/modx-1.0.1/info.php
and see what happens.

I created the file and got the full php info documentation successfully.
I have subsequently dont another install (with a different database name) at c:/wamp/www/testsite/modx. The install was successful again but after clicking on the last finish button it tried to take me to the /manager page but got another 404 page.

Probably best to ask in the Windows section; there are too many oddities with Windows servers that I have no clue about.
A couple of things do come to mind; does your Apache config file (wherever that is on a WAMP installation) specify index.php as an index file? What if you put
http://localhost/testsite/modx/manager/index.php
directly? Is there a .htaccess file in the www folder?
