Downloadable PDF?

I would like to add 1 upload field to a template so admins can upload a pdf or a file to the page if there is any to upload.. Instead of the file bein shown I just want the file URL so it can be clicked and the file downloaded.. how do i do this?

A TV might be handy:

With input type "file" the MODx filebrowser is activated for the TV and editors can upload and select files.

To output the path to the file use the TV placeholder [*myFile*] or whatever you’ve named it to build up a valid URL.

im trying to upload a pdf file.. im gettin this: Error, "Failed to upload file, internal error..."

any1 know how i can fix this?

The problem is, this could be from a large number of causes. Can you upload pdf files to the assets/files folder using the Manager’s file manager?
