Friendly URLs giving 404s for pages not created in MODx...?

Hi,
I have Friendly URls, alias paths, and htaccess Options -Indexes.

I’ve got a separate website that I’ve uploaded to my server outside of MODx.
Let’s say it’s at http://www.mysite.com/sites/thisone/index.php

When I reference that link from my MODx site, I get my 404 Error...
It’s not duplicating any names from my site inside MODx (there is no /sites or /thisone). Also, it doesn’t help to use home.php instead of index.php.


I’m not sure how to fix this.
Can anyone help?

I think you can either put an .htaccess file in the root of the other site turning the rewrite engine off (just copy the file from the /manager folder -- and rename it to .htaccess if necessary).

Or, you can create weblinks to the files in the MODx Manager - that will put them into any Wayfinder menus you have.

er... multiple .htaccess files? Is that safe/a good idea?

Also, a weblink pointing to the same site still gives the 404 error. Unless I’ve misunderstood you there.

Within my rewrite rule I mark which folders should be excluded from the rule set by doing the following:

RewriteRule ^/(?!(?:manager|v2|assets|projects)/)(.*)\.html(?:\?(.*))?$ /index.php?q=$1?2&$2: [NC,L,U]

In the example above the folder v2 and projects is excluded from any html rewrite rules.
