Chunks or Template Variables - Which is best to add editable content for the use

Thanks for the response. This image is of the homepage of the site and will be the introduction text. This will be fairly static but would like for the client to be able to update the content on both the left and right for things like season offers etc.

How do you now think would be best to set this up?

Are you intending that the client edit the areas in the front end? If not, I think they could just be Rich Text Template Variables.
