I cannot access ModX Manager... this is not password issue

I had to stop work on this project 3 months ago which I chose to do in ModX, now I am available to work on project again
I went to the domain for my website in firefox and of course put /manager after the domain

instead of getting a login request so I can access the manager, the website simply goes to the
first page of my website instead and bypasses the ModX manager altogether.

Any ideas on what this could be would be helpful & welcome. Thank you.

I just had a thought since no one has a reply to my issue above

How bout this instead, is there a way to back up all of the pages (all of my work) that is in ModX
and then just re-install ModX and add my pages back in or something like that

Any help would be appreciated.

What response headers do you get when trying to access the manager/ URL?

No response headers.... I type in "www.thedomain.com/modx/manager" cuz thats the way I have the file folders set up
on the server... but instead of going into login interface for the manager like it used too...

it simply goes to the index.php file which is the first page on the website instead
of taking me into the manager interface.

...that’s probably your standard 404 page, so the login page couldn’t be found
try login at www.thedomain.com/manager

but that did not work either. See the way I have Modx setup on my server ..... I have my domain root folder,
will call it "thedomain.com"... then inside there I have a folder called "modx" which all of the modx install
including my websites files are in.... it is there that the manager folder is as you most likely know already.

So in order to access manager interface I need to put into the browser www.thedomain.com/modx/manager

but as I said before, instead of going to manager login & interface, instead it pulls up the first page of
my website that the public would normally see which is the index.php file

There are always response headers; do you have Firefox Developer toolbar? Just select Information -> View Response Headers.

Otherwise, sounds like some kind of problem/change your host made, or an .htaccess file preventing access. Without knowing more about your server environment or having access to it directly, it’s going to be hard to say. Could be any number of things...

If you’d be willing to post the URL of your site, we might see something helpful.
