A Few Questions

    Hey, I am new to using ModX, but I must say, it is a great CMS to use, I do, however, have a few questions.

    First of all, when I log into my CMS, and visit my frontend site, It has 3 options: Create Resourse here, Edit Resource and login. However, I made a new theme based on the one I was using before I switched to a CMS, and I don’t know how I really go about editing it, is there a way to hide or edit it?

    Secondly, I have set my User friendly URLs to look like files, so for example my blog page is /blog, instead of something like blog.php, and it works fine, however, whenever I insert any media file that I uploaded, it makes the src something like assets/images/image.gif, which if added to the homepage works fine, but anywhere else it looks for something like blog/assets/images/image.gif, which of course doesn’t exist. I then try to make the src my full URL, http://www.site.com/assets/image/image.gif, but it makes it assets/images/image.gif. What do I do to stop this?

    Thanks in advance, apart from those issues, Modx is awesome to use...

      I’m afraid I don’t understand your first question at all. MODx doesn’t have "themes" -- are you referring to a template? It’s also not clear whether you want those three choices you describe or not.

      For the second, try putting this in the <head> section of your template:

      <base href="[(site_url)] />

        Oh, yes, template, thats it, and if I could remove it it would be better.
        Ye, I have the base href in my head tag, but that doesnt seem to help...

          Have you tried /assets/images/image.gif as the location (the initial slash generates a path from the root of your site instead of a relative path)?

            Ye, I tried that and ../assets... but the editor changes it back to assets/

              I had a site where I needed to stop tinymce removing the / But not 100% sure what I done. But looking at the set up it could try this:

              Elements >> Plugins >> TinyMCE >> Configuration >> then under path options use rootrelatvie.

              As said not 100% sure this is what i’ve changed to keep the root / in my url, but it’s the only thing that looks different to my other set ups.

                With my other problem, If I can’t actually remove those links, is there a code that lets me place it somewhere else?
                I have a bar at the top of my page with quick links, and it would be fine there...

                  Can you explain again your problem as not sure exactly what you are trying to achieve. Do you have link?

                    Lol, you know when you login to the main CMS, and visit your website frontend, there are three links that appear:
                    Edit Resource, Create Resource here, and Logout.
                    I don’t know how to edit these links, either to get rid of them, or place them in a bar at the top of my page.

                      Oh you meen the quick manager. This is only present when you are logged in. So if you log out and view the page it won’t be visable. It there so you can quickly edit page content ect, nothing to do with your template itself.
