From my understanding Evo is actually not under development but will remain supported for a long time. Someone jump in and correct me if I’m inadvertently making that up. I think the MODx (now MODX!) team is mainly just releasing patches and any bug fixes for Evo and not working on enhancements. Or if they are working on enhancements it’s probably very minor stuff or code that the community has developed. Again, this is just how I understand it.
I may have mentioned this earlier but I am still choosing Evo for most projects currently until Revo matures a bit more (even though it’s already pretty dang mature). I’ve just run into some snippet issues and there’s still so many extras that have yet to be ported. The lack of speed in manager (for development) is still painfully slow to me compared to Evo—although I’m anxious to see the big speed boost that has been talked about in 2.0.7. I think it all depends on whether the projects really calls for Revo and totally personal preference. I’d say though that people that are new to MODX (and not CMS dev), stick with Revo as it’s the future of MODX and rapidly being improved.
