Adding User to Groups

I have created a plugin that allows registered users to created their own user group, pages and add members who request to be added to their group but I have 1 issue... When I add a member to a new user group and that person is signed in, the user group setting won’t take effect till the user logs out and back in again. I have added a clear cache to the plugin which helps for the page creation side but this doesn’t help signed in users. Is there a way to add someone to a user group with out having to have them log out for the permissions to kick in?

Never hack!!! A plugin would do nicely; I’d have to stop and think and look into it a bit to figure out which event to use; I’m working on three projects right now, and that’s about as far as my concentration can be split unless you really can’t figure it out.

I’m sure quite a few people would like to be able to add members to groups with out them having to sign out... I have been creating my own bits and pieces but never managed to figure that one out!

There’s no rush but it would be nice if someone can figure it out.

Buiding a site with some fancy WebLoginPE usage involved (as well as front-end temporary editing of bits of the content using a simple mootools script (the AJAX bit isn’t needed, since the documents will be printed, not saved), documenting Revolution usage, which means a lot of time studying it and going over the processes I’m documenting until I fully understand what they’re doing (if not exactly how yet), and documenting the actual usage of WebLoginPE. The article on Evolution and snippets is about 1/3 done; but I figured since I’m building the site with WebLoginPE I might as well take the time to document what I’m doing as well.

Ok, it all depends on the scripts that are putting people in the groups. If they are setting up the event interrupt, then you can use it in a plugin to set the user’s webgroups in the SESSION. Otherwise, you’ll have to hack the script that is doing the group thing to also set the SESSION. See my site, http://www.sottwell.com/article-sessions.html, for what you’ll need to set.
