Addon to log visits

In Modx’s configuration there is a setting for logging visits to site, but "This setting has no effect unless you have a visitor tracking or statistics resource installed that supports this setting." I couldn’t find any add-on in the repository that can do that. Does anyone know of an add-on that can log every visit by every user, or is there any other way to achieve this short of writing a plugin myself? (I am using version 9.6.3)

Yes it’s called Google Analytics
Joking apart I think most people use an external visitor tracking and reporting application.
There is a 404 logger module which is a nice tool to see where it’s going wrong.

Thanks for the tip. Do you know any good external app that I can integrate with Modx without too much hassle?

When you say every user, do you mean every "web user" (logged in)? Or every visitor?

A new module/plugin was added recently for Piwik, it looked pretty good.

Thanks bwente. I meant all frontend users whether logged in or not.

PiwikX seems like a great addon but it may not be the right solution for me because it appends HTML code to the page. Some of my pages use Ajax and anything appended to server response could cause problem. Moreover, because I need the logging as part of managing the security of the website and all the necessary information is available on the server side, I don’t want to rely on, and use, client side scripts for that.

I think the fastest way for me is to write a simple snippet and add a snippet call to my templates to record the necessary information. If I can find an addon/script that can help me render that information (on backend or frontend), it will save me a lot of time. Until then, I can check the logs directly on DB using phpMyAdmin.
