I own an art and music project currently running with Light N Easy CMS and I want to take it to the next level. In my search for a different CMS to make this happen I came across ModX. In the gallery showcase I saw a website that is kinda what I want to do.

My website The Red Realm features underground art and music. I’d like to keep the same concept but allow the artist or musician to register (create a profile) that must be approved by me.

This page is sort of what I’m looking for. The artist/musician profile should include the type/genre of art/music, a bio, a gallery/player, and links to external sites.

I’m only interested in having the artists sign up. Visitor interaction would be limited to viewing the galleries, listening/downloading music, and sharing the pages using common share buttons (twitter, facebook, digg, etc.)

I installed the latest version of ModX to my webserver on a test folder to try it out. I see that I have a lot of work ahead of me to accomplish my project smiley

My webserver runs PHP 5+ and MYSQL. The installation was a success. I’ve looked at the documentation files but it’d bee nice to be pointed in the right direction.

    Hope someone can help wink

Start by installing the WebLoginPE snippet. I’m working on a somewhat similar site; member registration that has to be approved by the admin, more information entered by the member in his profile editing page. As I develop the site, I’m documenting the process. The article on registration should be up this weekend.

Is the article up? If so, can I have the link?
