Hi, this is my first time using modx, everything is working fine except i’m having issues when trying to deploy and connect to the remote DB
The error is ’incorrect username and password’ - but I know that I am using the correct combination
The remote DB was set up by someone else who assures me the correct configs are being used, i.e. those set out in /manager/includes/config.inc.php
Does anyone have any input?

Those are what are needed to access the database. At least one of them must be incorrect. Perhaps your database server is not using the standard MySQL server port. I have also had problems when my password contained non-standard alphanumeric characters (the British pound symbol to be exact; at the time the file was in ISO-8859, and I had to convert it to UTF-8 and upload it again)
Can you log in to the database via some other client program (either a desktop client or another web client such as phpMyAdmin)?

If it’s a remote server, then your local phpMyAdmin has to be configured to access that server.
