Hi, looking for an appropiate CMS, will be MODx....???

Hi!

I’m looking for an appropiate CMS for a customer project.

This is the main requirements for the project:

- Different domains (same design) for different countries. Every site will need different content (for example, different products)

- Private area (with different users login and different content for each, no more than 2-3 different sections)

Rest of requirements I know theres no problem (design, sections, etc.)

I hope anyone can help me with this first questions.

You shouldn’t have any issues with those requirements. You can do it in Evo, but Revo is dialed in exactly for that type of situation (multiple contexts), assuming by "different domains" you mean different URLs accessing the same base install.

So, the revo version is available???I was reading in the MODx site and what I understood is that the revo edition is in beta phase???

Revo is in beta. Depending on the timing of your site launch and how large the sites are you might be able tp do just fine with Evo, though.

Timing is 1-2 months (1 is better though)

Then the Evo version is the one from december 2008 i suppose no???

This also has a new realease candidate version called evo which can be found at http://modxcms.com/download/register.html?file=302

And then there is REVO.

EVO is the continuation of 0.9.6.3 code, where as revo is a complete rewrite.

Pedros the EVO RC seems pretty damn stable to be honest. And there are plenty of people on the forum with experiance with 0.9.6.3 who can help if you have any problems.

I found when I first started using MODx if i ever got stuck i put somthing on the forum and got replies within minutes normally max 1 hour, and usually got stuff sorted in less than 1/2 a day.
