Can someone explain to me the theory behind the proper way for me to accomplish this task in Modx? I installed MODx and can create a homepage. I also created a username for the person who I am designing the site for. So what I’d like to do is limit that user’s access to the manager panel so that they can only update certain parts of the website. How do I do this? Is this the proper way to go about giving the client access to manage the site? Thank you.

You need to create a new Manager user so the client can log in. Then you can create a manager user group to put the user in and a document group containing the documents that user can access. Then you restrict that document group to that Manager user group.
