Wayfinder troubles

I am building a site with two sections for the menus. The first 6 pages in one area and the rest in another. All of these are top level pages and some will have children. The second wayfinder call outputs nothing. I have tried using different startId’s but anything other than 0 outputs nothing. Any idea’s on how I can get this working?

Here are my wayfinder calls:

An update on this, I worked around by setting the 2nd startID to 0 and using &excludeDocs to exclude the first 6.

Another way to do what you want is to use the "showHidden" parameter of Wayfinder and the Show in Menu option of your top-level documents.

For the first six documents, clear their Show in Menu checkbox.

Now the first Wayfinder call can use the showHidden parameter to go ahead and show them anyway, while the limit parameter will show only the first six.

The second Wayfinder call now won’t show those first six.

Interesting trick Susan

@Miro, doc 9, is parent document and it has no children, right? I suppose you know that WF will output the children documents of the document specified as the startId, hence, by stating startId=`9`, you are telling WF to output its children and not the doc itself. That’s why "there was no output".

That’s a good way aroung Susan, unfortunately I already had the homepage hidden from this menu and didn’t want the ’home’ link shown on the homepage.
