In addition to a main drop down menu, we’re also trying to create an automatic sidebar menu.
We’ve gone through the ’Almost’ Complete Wayfinder guide and set up a menu but because our menu looks at a specific container (&startId) it doesn’t work when the template is used on pages in a different section.
Can Wayfinder determine if it is on a page, a container, or the child of a container and then display a menu accordingly?
Essentially when the page doesn’t have any children, we’d like the sidebar menu to display a page title only. But when the page is a container, or if it is the child of a container, we’d like a sub menu that displays the container page at the top with the children underneath.
We’re also hoping Wayfinder can determine this no matter which page it is on. That way it could be called once from a template and used anywhere on the site.
Hopefully this makes sense. Any help would be much appreciated.
