[Solved] Removing the main content editor in Manager

Hi There,

Have done a search for this but can’t find any info so not sure if it’s possible. On some of our pages we don’t want a huge editor window (presumably from the default [#content] TV)

Is it possible to remove this from pages that don’t need it? It kind of looks confusing from the client’s point of view - not to mention a bit painful to have to scroll past it every time.

Have gone with the Hide Editor option as it seems simpler but the instructions are a bit vague (to me).

Instructions
- Copy and paste the plugin code (without the begin/end PHP tags)
- Select the "OnDocFormRender" event
- If your templates are load via an "Include" snippet then add the following virtual parameter "content=true"

Where do you paste the plugin code to - into a new plugin in the manager or do you just throw the php file into the plugins folder? Decided to do both...

2.
The only "OnDocFormRender" event I can find is in the actual plugin code, once you’ve selected it, what do you do with it?

Sorry if this is all really obvious - have searched google, the Modx site and the Modx wiki for "install plugin" but can’t find a general install guide for plugins (incase all plugins are installed the same way).

It means into a new plugin in the manager. When creating the new plugin, you will see the "System Events" tab; there is where you need to select the event for triggering the plugin (by checking the checkbox for the ones the plugin’s instructions specify).

And yes, all plugins are installed the same way. Copy/paste the plugin code to a new plugin, and at least select one or more system events. Some plugins will have other configuration settings. Some plugins have include files that need to be uploaded to the assets/plugins folder; they will say so if this is the case.

Yes, I know, one can copy/paste entire files into file system browser windows (Explorer or Finder, for example) or FTP browser windows, but logically one can only copy/paste code from/into a form field or editor.

On the Create/Edit Plugin panel there’s a separate tab called "system events" that you probably didn’t notice. 

That’s where you set the system events that the plugin "listens" for.
