simple problem installing modx on xampp & IIS

Hi guys,

I has IIS set up on local host 127.0.0.1 and xampp setup on 127.0.0.1:8080

now when i start to setup a new modx installation on xampp i am getting stuck at the database connection stage. Already been in phpmyadmin and set up the database, user and password but can’t get modx to connect.

I think it is due to the database host.

Right now i have database host setup as ’localhost’ which i thought would stay the same, but i guess it might be causing the problem. i’m still stuck on the installation screen.

Do i have to change this in someway to reflect that xampp, mysql is setup differently? i’m sure it’s very easy but i’m lost for ideas.

ok, i set the computer and that error is gone.

but now i am stuck further along. i can’t seem to login into the manager:

http://127.0.0.1:8080/modx/manager/processors/login.processor.php

just hangs on that page. any thoughts?

Try http://localhost/modx/manager/ if your root folder in xampp is named modx.
