how to edit multiple content on one page using the frontend editor [ SOLVED ]

Hi,

i am having another go at trying to use modx and have made a bit of progress of understanding how it works.....well only the basics .

my question:

on my homepage of my site i have 4 sections that i want to have content on and be able to edit from the frontend.

The first section gets its content from the homepage itself and i use the [*#content*] to make it editable on the frontend.

the other 3 sections i have made them children files of the homepage file. I then use DITTO to display them on the homepage.

how do i go about being able to edit the four section on the homepage? is this possible some way.

If using Ditto you can add the # to call QuickEdit for the linked content. In the Ditto tpl for example [+#longtitle+]. I think that this only works with Ditto. Also you can have custom QE links for the content, there is an example here: http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,15524.msg148163.html#msg148163

I just implemented the way that ganeshXL  explained and i have it working,  but the way that dev_cw says to do it is what i was looking for.....  off to test that out now.  my modx education continues.

Hi, back again.

I thought i would just post back in here instead of opening a new thread.

Like i said in my last post i went away and tried to implement the way dev_cw suggested. I am not sure if i doing something wrong and i admit that i am gonna check more tomorrow but this is what has happened.

when i am logged in as the manager and view the front end i am able to edit the content that is being called in the ditto snippet. The problem i have is when i view the page when i am not logged in it has a an hyperlink saying "« Edit : Completed Projects : content" if i click on the hyperlink it takes me to the manager login screen. I don’t want the hyperlinks there.

like i said i am gonna check tomorrow more but if anyone could suggest something i might be doing wrong it would be a great help.

Put the Edit links in a chunk and use one of the snippets that show a chunk if logged in (I have used ManagerOnly to do this).

sorry i dont understand what you mean.

I don’t want the links to be there at all when i am not logged in.

for example if someone views my site now they can see the link and click it, which then takes them to the manager login screen.

Exactly, with managerOnly you can have a chunk that shows only when you are logged in as a manager.
