Installation error - 'Database Alerts!'

    Hi guys,

    I go through the modx-0.9.6.3 installation process until the ’Install results’ window where I get the following error:

    Creating database tables: Database Alerts!

MODx setup couldn't install/alter some tables inside the selected database.

The following errors had occurred during installation

You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'mysurname/Sites/modx/assets/')...


    My friend with an identical system has just installed MODx without getting this error.

    We’re using MAMP for testing MODx locally.
    MySQL version: 5.0.41
    PHP 5

    We’ve tried creating new databases but still get the same error. Any ideas?

      Sounds like your DB user doesn’t have the appropriate permissions.

        Thanks for the quick reply rthrash.

        We tried changing user permissions but still weren’t able to get past the installation error. However I do now have MODx working after I imported my colleague’s SQL template smiley
