How to output calendar using DittoCal

I’ve just installed DittoCal on v.0.9.6.3 exactly as instructed in the documentation, and am now getting an error when viewing any pages using the template that contains the DittoCal call. I’m assuming it’s because you can’t use the literal URL in the example ([!DittoCal? &calSource=`http://www.muddydogpaws.com/blog_json_output` &dayNameLength=`1`!]), but I have no clue how to format or even read in JSON data for formatting. Is there a template for the calendar that appears on the author’s site, or a template someone else has made so I can see how it’s supposed to work and change to suit my needs?

Nothing? I thought the ModX community support was supposed to be awesome! Come on, guys! I don’t want to have to write everything custom for this project.

I unfortunately don’t have expertise on DittoCal nor much time to offer to fix this, but one thing which would help (as I said on twitter) is to detail the error you’re getting. Also, copy paste the URL you use as &calSource (which is "The path to the document created to output your posts in json format." If you didn’t create the document in json beforehand, it won’t work...).

You need to setup a page on your site that outputs the data for dittocal in json format. That is what you will link to, not something on my site. See here for more instructions:
