im trying to install modx on my pc but i always encounter this problem in step 3

im using wamp as virtual server
Make sure your MYSQL server is running on localhost first, then create a database for use by MODx, enter the username/password you’ve assigned to the database on page 3 of the installer then try again. The first of your error messages suggests that either your MYSQL server is not running or you are using the wrong host name.
Use MODx, or the cat gets it!
