I would like to create a web site where educators can have a forum on curriculum ideas and get ideas from articles and other info. I am new to all of the creating of web sites and new to coding. I’m wondering also about getting a template to modify the look of my site. I tried one but the blog element did not stay in tact when I adopted it. Are there only certain templates that work with ModX? Or can we modify the look of the Modx template we started with the way we want without having to adopt another one?
Hi, you can change the pre-supplied MODx templates any way you wish, also there is a templates section on the extra’s section of the forum, try here
http://modxcms.com/extras.html?view=repository/view&repository=11 with lost of pre-made templates, you may find one of these better suits your needs or is a better starting point for customization.
Templates in MODx are just HTML, have a look at one in in the templates section of your resources pulldown and you’ll see what I mean.
