I have accidently purged the unauthorised page, I am wondering what are the instructions to create another one. Thanks in advance.

      Hi Bluegum.

First, are you sure it’s gone? You would need to delete and then empty the trash in the Manager to get rid of it. If you said to delete it but haven’t emptied the trash, it can be undeleted.

I’m assuming that you mean the unauthorized page from the MODx sample blog site that gets installed automatically. If it is really gone, don’t panic. To recreate it, just create a new document, paste in the code below, and the go to Tools | Configuration and put the unauthorized page ID of the new page in the unauthorized page field on the General tab.

      Title: [*loginName*]
Long Title: Login to Enable to Comments
      Alias: login
      Menu Title: [*loginName*]

<p>In order to comment on blog entries, you must be a registered user of [(site_name)]. If you haven't already registered, you can <a href="[~5~]">request an account</a>.</p>
      <div>[!WebLogin? &tpl=`FormLogin` &loginhomeid=`2`!] </div>

Be sure to turn the Rich Text editor off before pasting the code.

When I realised I needed the unauthorized page back, this message appeared underneath the Configuration tab when I clicked on Site > Home:

One or more configuration details didn’t check out OK:
Configuration warning: ’The Unauthorized page defined in the site configuration settings is not published.’

        What does this mean?
This means that your Unauthorized page is inaccessible to the general public. Publish the page or make sure it is assigned to an existing Resource in your Site Tree in the Tools > Configuration menu.

I don’t think it has anything to do with a blog, as the website I am building a normal website not a blog.

OK, then it’s even simpler. You just need to create a new page, put whatever you want in it, publish it, and put its ID in the Unauthorized Page field in Tools | Configuration.

It’s the page users will see when they try to access a page they don’t have permission to see.

I didn’t realise it was that simple.
