Hi I did try to change the path in File Manager path as u recommended. However I don’t know the right syntax. For example what I see from my file manager input box is /customers/mysite.com/mysite.com/httpd.www/modx
should i write something like /mysite.com/
Apart from that when i go to interface and features tab, I found that in resource path and resource URL i can’t change the path as the input box that allows me to change is only /assets/
And that /assets/ is inside modx folder.
Instead of:
/customers/mysite.com/mysite.com/httpd.www/modx
Now use:
/customers/mysite.com/mysite.com/httpd.www/
If the the resource path and resource url are wrong now I recommend run the upgrade install w/o installing anything.
That is you will have to transfer back your install folder (that should later be deleted).
//I have only moved a 0.9.6.1p2 install before - where you could edit the whole path...
Before I run the installer Id try changing the /assets/ to only assets/ save, log out, log in...
mrhaw is right that an upgrade install will usually put the correct path in automatically without changing any of your site content, but
sometimes you need to go into cPanel and use the File browser to find out the real path to the site root. I have this on one site:
/home/userName/public_html/siteName/
I tried look into the changelog but didn’t find out why resource path no longer can be edited... ?
Dont mean to hijack, but was going to make a thread about the same, and figured would be stupid when this one is as fresh as it is.
Anyways, I was going to do the exact same thing as OP; moving my modX-site from a subflolder to the root. I ran the upgrade as suggested in this thread but still have the following problems:
- the documenttree does not show in the manager, ie. I cannot view nor edit any of my content.
- when I access Resources/Manage files, it only says "Directory listing for:/Access denied!"
I am positive my file manager path is correct. It is "/home/3/e/ethimmelsk/www", and was "/home/3/e/ethimmelsk/www/modx" (which is the subfolder my site was tested on).
Anyone have any ideas what to do? The site is ready to be delivered to the client, but the point of having a "content mangament system" kinda dissapeared :p
Any help is appreciated!
