I’m having problems getting scheduled publishing and unpublishing to work correctly. On the online demo at opensourcecms.com I could set the publish/unpublish times a few minutes in the future and the documents would publish/unpublish accordingly. However, on my 0.9.6.3 installation the documents seem to publish/unpublish hours after the scheduled time even after I account for the server time offset. I’ve looked at the database values in modx_site_content for pub_date and unpub_date but they don’t seem to correlate to when the scheduled event is acted upon. I’m wondering if this is a problem with my web hosting server or maybe there’s some setting I’m overlooking? How exactly does MODX act upon scheduled events??

Check if there is a time difference on the server than your local time. The time used in the schedule is the server time, regardless of your local time. In the manager > settings there is an option to set an offset of the time.
