Best way to obtain thumb nail image from Image TV

Hi,

I’m looking for some advice, I would like to allow my client to upload images via the Image TV, I would like to control the optimization image size via the modx admin, so no mater what crazy sizes my client decides to upload images will be reformatted to meet my design.

I’ve looked at phpthumb but haven’t managed to get it to work, and have a feeling phpthumb only work’s with images uploaded through the Rich Text editor?

How do we control image size?

Have you thought about using DirectResize ?
It creates a cached thumbnail, size is set by a tag in your html.
It gives you custom templates for outputting lightboxes etc.
