I need some help with the Friendly URL feature in MODX. I’ve followed all the directions on setting up the .htaccess file. I’ve also turned on the Friendly URL option in MODX. I am running version Modx 1.0 on a linux server.
Basically after I make the changes my pages show up with a page number .
I get - www.mycomany.com/3 instead of www. mycompany.com/alias.html
any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Hector
Make sure each page to be shown in the menu has something in the "Alias" field.
Also, be sure to clear the MODx cache and your browser cache after making changes.
Thanks for the suggestion but the friendly URL is still not working??
Any other ideas?
Have you selected "Use Friendly Aliases"?
Did you rename ht.access to .htaccess?
We’ve edited/renamed the 2 htaccess files (/root and /manager folders) but site’s still not displaying the alias/friendly-urls. How many .htaccess files are needed for the friendly-url feature to work?
That’s it. Is your site in a subdirectory?
You may need to edit the .htaccess file in the root to match your site structure (just change rewrite base).
I’ts also possible that your host is preventing the .htacces files from being read.
See if anything here helps:
