Modx page looks strange after installation

Hello, I’m using modx first time, and having troubles, could somebody please help...

First problem is: after installation modx login page page looks very strange (there is not any recognized symbols). After I logged in, ALL the text in modx looks the same. So I even can’t do anything... While installation I entered English language, but guest os is in english too.

Second problem is: when I enter login/password to login to modx manager - my page freezes and browser after few secodns return that page is not found. I’ve noticed, that after I click login button, modx tries to open following page:
myurl.com:1242/manager
but if I try to open just
myurl.com/manager
it succeeds.

Could you please help me, why page text is looking so? And why modx adds port number to url while login?

That looks like a mix of languages, or a horrible charset mismatch one. You might want to try reinstalling and re-uploading the files.

I already tried to reinstall - nothing has happened... Strange is that I’ve installed modx in english version + my browser is english... I even do not know where is mistake...

Very strange, there must be something odd in your installation for the chars to look like that. Not sure what to suggest next. Is this on a local server or remote? If remote try a test on a local server (local as on you PC)

And why modx adds port number to url while login?

Modx does not do this! Again this seems like something odd in your install or server configuration.
