modx: SAML, OpenID, simpleSAMLphp, and federated identity management.

Does modx support or is there a plugin module available that will implement support for SAML and OpenID and federated identity management? Specifically I’ve been looking at simpleSAMLphp. It has been integrated into a number of CMS frameworks, Joomla, Drupal, Wordpress, etc. I didn’t see anything for modx however. Can anyone comment on any initiative regarding modx and federated identity management?

We personally use Crowd as our authentication provider for SSO with the MODx site on Revo. There is an LDAP plugin that has been started and another one that uses IMAP. I don’t believe openID or SAML has been done yet, but it could be undertaken and should work for those that need it for their site(s).

Thanks for the reply. It might be good if one of the modx principals would talk with simpleSAMLphp and workout how to develop something regarding simpleSAMLphp federated identity management for modx.
