Can't connect to manager in cgi-bin folder

Hi,
I installed MODx (latest version) with all the plugin on my server. The installation went well but when I come to my admin panel, the manager can’t login.

On my server I have two folder called ’htdocs’ and ’cgi-bin’. I’d put all the folder of MODx in the htdocs folder but when I want to login to the manager he says;
Can’t connect to www.domain.nl/cgi-bin/manager. So my admin panel creates a path to my cgi-bin folder and in that folder I don’t have acces. I tried to move my manager folder to the cgi-bin folder but that didn’t work out, I also tried to change the properties of the cgi-bin folder but that didn’t work out either.

If I type in www.domain.nl/manager I can login and I can make a site but the rich tekst editor isn’t available and the front-end editor isn’t available too. If I go to the front-end editor he tells me I don’t have acces to the cgi-bin/manager folder.....

I hope someone can help me.

Do you mean the recently released 0.9.6.2 version?

Yes the latest version. I tried to fix it with editing the paths in the configuration window but that didn’t help.

This sounds like a very peculiar web server configuration. You’ll need to provide more detailed information on your environment for us to be of any real help here.

More info about my server configuration:

The htdocs folder contains the phpmyadmin folder and, since I added it, all the folders of MODx

The cgi-bin folder contains al lot of folders like:
php 4 and 5
mailform
ads.setup
auto responder
banner
cgi-lib.pl
counter
dumpenv
guestbook
library
mail a form
postcard
printenv
redirect
search.cgi
test.cgi
web-store.cgi

My database info is like this:

Database type: mysql
Database name: ierselj_school
Database hostnaam: ierselj.mysqlservers.xs4all.nl
Database admin loginnaam: ierselj_schoola
Database read-only loginnaam: ierselj_schoolr

And my common info is like this:

Website adres: www.basisschoolrhijngeest.nl
Website type: Advanced Unix
Virtual hosts: www.basisschoolrhijngeest.nl, ierselj.websites.xs4all.nl
FTP serverpoort: 21
FTP remote directory: /htdocs
SSH hostnaam: wh-shell1.xs4all.nl
SSH loginnaam: ierselj
SSH remote directory: ~/Webhosting/htdocs
Standard scripts: Ja
Own scripts: Ja

You should never put information like this on a public forum. I would strongly recommend you edit that post and remove all that information about foldernames, database names, FTP and SSH! That won’t help us with your problem, anyway.

Zelfde probleem ook bij xs4all. Hebben jullie al een oplossing gevonden?
