We recently installed MODx to try things out. I wanted to try out setting up parent and child pages on the original demo site with a new item on the menu. When I checked the "Display in Menu" box, it didn’t get displayed. So I tried un-displaying a few of the original pages, but still nothing. Finally, I decided to just edit the existing pages, so I chose for them to be displayed again... and they wouldn’t appear, either. Feeling like I broke something, I came here. :p Any ideas?
I cleared the cache, and it said 0 documents published, 0 documents unpublished.

When creating new pages, by default they are unpublished; you need to publish them before they’ll show in the menu.
As far as simply editing an existing document, unless you unpublish it or uncheck the "show in menu" checkbox, I don’t know why they would stop showing up in the menu.
