Frontpage Slideshow

Hello !

I just wanna know if someone tried this application "Frontpage Slideshow" http://www.frontpageslideshow.net/, that is really amazing !

And if there is a snippet adaptation already done for modx cms ?

Uber slideshow system for Joomla!, Mambo and any PHP based site!

There’s nothing special about this, it’s just a nice javascript-based slideshow that can be used anywhere.

There was a MODx site highlighted on the forum a while back that had something similar. Believe me if it works on those CMS then it can definitely work on MODx.

I’ve done it, but only for one tempalte, the uncut v2, it’s still not a perfect automatisation (because I’m not a coder), but it’s working like I need.

This is what I modified on data.php



tpl-slideshow-titre is a chunk with this code [+title+]
tpl-slideshow-text is a chunk with this code [+introtext:limit=`150`+]...
tpl-slideshow-image is a chunk with an image tv call
tpl-slideshow-link is a chunk with this code [~[+id+]~]

I know this is a couple of years later but...

How did you get the TV to work in this snippet?

i.e. I have the following:

[[Ditto? &parents=`79` &tpl=`tpl-imagechunk` &display=1 &start=`’.$counter.’`]]

• document 79 is a container holding several documents.
• the ’tpl-imagechunk’ chunk is simply: [*header-image*] (but this returns a "placeholder not found" error
• I have the Ditto line in a loop that cycles through all the documents within the parent of ID 79 (i.e. it will return the path and file name of the images set up in the [*header-image*] TV of each document)
  
• the [*header-image*] TV is simple text. i.e. /assets/images/image1.jpg

I’m using MODx Evo 1.0.4

Help appreciated!

And yes... for some strange blonde moment.. I totally forgot about substituting * with +’s!
